China, Hunan

Its always hard to plan family trip thus I'm really glad we did this year and it was by far the longest trip we had travelled together!

6 hours flight to Changde and we had our first meal at one of the biggest restaurant there and the restaurant was exceptionally big! I wonder how many pax they could hold! The food was a little too oily but it wasn't as bad as what we thought.

Waking up the next day morning to this beautiful place (which is also one of my favorite place this trip), 凤凰古城. It has an exceptionally well-preserved ancient town that harbors unique ethnic languages, customs, arts as well as many distinctive architectural remains of "Ming" and "Qing" styles.

Next few days was the highlight of the trip. After taking hours of bus ride, we are finally here at 张家界 national forest park. Located in the Hunan province of south-central China, it totally amaze me with its timeless natural beauty.

Because mum was afraid of height, leaving the 3 of us to walk the glass walkway. We were request to wear an anti-slip shoe cover to prevent scratches and also to minimize the dust on the acrylic glass planks! What a view up there! :)

To walk on it takes some courage and a spirit for adventure. As required by park regulations, tourists to the site have to wear anti-slip shoe covers, which also serve to minimize dust on the acrylic glass planks. -

The walkway is a valuable addition to the attractions of the Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park, which is only 7 miles from the downtown area of Zhangjiajie, a prefecture-level city most famous for the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in the north.

After which, we took cable-car down then we were transferred to their "recycle bus" up to 天门山, a famous mountain first recorded in the history of Zhangjiajie with an elevation of 1518.6 meters. It is 8 kilometers from the downtown and is one of the most representative natural sceneries of Zhangjiajie. Tianmenshan Mountain is uniquely sky scraping and domineering. Tianmen cave the natural mountain-penetrating karst cave with the highest elevation in the world, hangs on the towering cliff. The cave become the unique sight under heaven and breeds the profound and grand heaven culture of Fairy Mountain in the local area. Tianmenshan Mountain is the second national forest park in Zhangjiajie. On the mountaintop are intact sub-primitive forests with overflowing wild atmosphere in all the seasons.

Look at my folks happy faces! Didn't expect them to climb up the steep stairs and they make it to the top with us! ☺️

This is the 狐仙 show! One of the best and most spectacular outdoor show i had ever seen so far! Their plots, their every move feels like I'm into them. It's really good!

After few days at zhangjiajie, we headed to the pier at yichang for another 4nights on the three gorges cruise. Beautiful place, beautiful scenary and met different friends from all around the world. 山峡人家 is one of our favourite place to visit while traveling on the Yangtze River.

Last stop above was at Fengdu, Ghost city! It's almost similar as 虎豹别墅 in Singapore. It was featuring instruments of torture and wide demon images, which vividly depict the Chinese people's imagination hell.

Good time always pass so fast. 10days holiday just ended too quick! The cruise stops at Chongqing. Too bad we didn't get the chance to stay another night there and we had to leave in the afternoon.

Nevertheless, it was a fruitful trip, definitely bonded the family closer! I love them so much, always feel so good whenever I'm overseas with them and letting our hair down to just relax, drink beer, eat, massage, looking at beautiful scenery and having nothing to worry in the mind. And we are all thankful for the good weather and a safe journey throughout the whole trip. Life should sometime be like this! Looking forward to our next family trip!! ❤️
